SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Following his recent recognition as a Fellow of the Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA), Dr. Samer A. Itani is helping redefine access to dental care for patients who cannot access traditional dental offices. Through Itani Dental’s Dentistry to Your Door® program, patients throughout the Bay Area receive comprehensive dental care in their homes, care facilities, and hospital settings.
Too many Bay Area residents go without dental care not by choice, but because the system wasn’t built for them. Seniors aging in place, individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD), and patients with complex medical histories face barriers that a traditional dental office cannot overcome. For more than 15 years, Itani Dental has been closing that gap, bringing comprehensive care to patients wherever they are.
Today, the practice delivers approximately 275 house-call visits annually and performs more than 225 hospital and dental clearance visits each year, serving patients throughout a 50-mile radius of San Francisco.
Founded by Dr. Samer A. Itani, DDS, SCDA Fellow, the practice has built a reputation for providing specialized dental care to patients who often face barriers to receiving treatment. Receiving more than 80 provider referrals annually, Dr. Itani and his team maintain credentials at six Bay Area hospitals and work closely with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and healthcare organizations seeking specialized dental care solutions for medically complex patients.
