General/Restorative Dentistry

At Itani Dental, we provide a full range of dental services, including dental implants, crowns and bridges, tooth-colored fillings, extractions, and other surgical services. But we also help our patients avoid complex and costly procedures by providing solid, preventative dental care. By controlling plaque and calculus with good oral hygiene, patients, together with dental professionals, can prevent tooth decay and gum disease from appearing and spreading.

If receiving dental care in a traditional setting is a challenge due to special needs or difficulty accessing care, please see our Special Care Dentistry pages. All of our general/restorative dentistry services are available to those who require or wish to have special care.

Implants

Research shows that 70% of the U.S. population is missing at least one tooth. With dental implants, lost teeth can be replaced with prosthetics (artificial replacements) that look and function like natural, healthy teeth. Dental implants help you maintain healthier teeth, gums, and bones while ensuring that your smile and ability to speak and chew comfortably remain intact.

Modern dental implants are precision devices, available in several different designs to address your specific needs. The most common type is a titanium screw that is anchored into the jawbone where it serves as a post for a custom-made tooth crown. Once the crown is in place, you may not be able to tell it apart from your natural teeth.

Dental implants let you eat the foods you love and are the only proven way to prevent bone loss after the loss of a natural tooth.

Research shows that implant-supported prostheses increase patient comfort.

Dental implants have proven to be the single most effective treatment for restoring the appearance and action of missing teeth and the surrounding gums and bones.

If you need full-mouth multiple dental implants, you have several options depending on your budget, oral health, and personal preferences. Here are the main options:

All-on-4 or All-on-6 Dental Implants

General/Restorative Dentistry
  • Best for: Patients who want a permanent, non-removable full-arch replacement with fewer implants.
  • How it works:
    • Uses four to six implants per arch to support a full set of teeth.
    • The prosthetic arch is attached to the implants, providing a stable, functional bite.
    • Often allows for same-day teeth placement (“Teeth in a Day”).
  • Pros:
    • Requires fewer implants, reducing surgery time and cost.
    • More affordable than individual implants.
    • Prevents significant bone loss.
  • Cons:
    • May not be suitable if you have severe bone loss without grafting.
    • Fixed (non-removable) but may require periodic adjustments.

Implant-Supported Dentures (Overdentures)

Replacing single or multiple teeth

General/Restorative Dentistry
  • Best for: Patients who want the most natural and durable option, and have the budget for it.
  • How it works:
    • Each missing tooth is replaced with an individual implant and crown.
  • Pros:
    • Feels and functions like natural teeth.
    • Long-lasting and preserves jawbone health.
  • Cons:
    • Requires 4-6 months of healing time for final prosthesis.

Zygomatic Implants (for Severe Bone Loss)

General/Restorative Dentistry
  • Best for: Patients with extreme bone loss who cannot undergo traditional implant procedures.
  • How it works:
    • Instead of anchoring into the jawbone, implants are placed in the cheekbone (zygoma).
    • Usually used for upper jaw restorations.
  • Pros:
    • Avoids bone grafting.
    • Can provide immediate functionality.
  • Cons:
    • More complex surgery.
    • Not all providers offer this option.

Fillings

Fillings are a tooth-colored resin composite that take the place of tooth structure. It is a simple and versatile restorative option that can be used for most cavities (decayed tooth structure), small chips/fracture, and even to alter shape or color of existing teeth.

Inlays, Onlays, and Crowns

Inlays, Onlays, and Crowns are custom lab-processed ceramic or metal restorations that are capable of restoring severely compromised teeth. These restorations offer better longevity and often have higher esthetic value.

Veneers

Veneers are a type of ceramic restoration most often used to change the shape/color of anterior teeth. Similar to inlays, onlays, and crowns, they are custom, and lab processed. These restorations get bonded to the teeth and can greatly improve the esthetics of a tooth with less preparation of the original tooth structure than crowns.

Bridges

Bridges are an alternative to implants that replace missing teeth. Unlike implants, bridges require using existing teeth that are adjacent to the missing tooth site. Bridges are generally a quicker restorative option for a missing tooth than an implant.

Invisalign

Invisalign® Clear Braces uses a custom-made series of aligners designed specifically for you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on a pre-determined treatment plan designed by one of our dentists. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth.

Periodontal Maintenance and Treatment

Regular check-ups and routine cleanings are instrumental in maintaining your dental health because they enable us to make early detections and prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Combined with a healthy home dental care regimen, regular visits to your dentist ensure healthy teeth, gums, and a beautiful smile.
